Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Pawtal app ("Pawtal", "we", "us") handles information. Pawtal is operated by Emin Ismikhan. If you have any questions, contact us at help@pawtalpets.com.

1. Information you add to Pawtal

You choose what to put into Pawtal. This may include your pets' names, photos, birthdays, breeds, vaccine and vet-visit records, medications, medical conditions, weight history, veterinarian and insurance details, and photos or PDFs of documents you scan or import.

This information is stored:

• On your device, in the app's private storage.
• In your private iCloud database, if you are signed in to iCloud, so it is backed up and available on your other Apple devices. This uses Apple's CloudKit service. Your iCloud data is tied to your Apple Account and is not accessible to us. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not operate servers that store your records, and we have no way to view them.

2. Scanning documents

When you scan or import a document, Pawtal reads the text using Apple's on-device text recognition and, on supported devices, Apple's on-device language model. This happens entirely on your iPhone. The image and its text are not sent to us or to any third party. The document itself is saved with your other records as described above.

3. Camera and photo library

Pawtal asks for access to your camera or photo library only when you choose to take or pick a photo (for example, a pet photo or a document to scan). Only the photos you select are used, and they are stored as described above.

4. Notifications

Reminders (such as upcoming vaccines, appointments and pet birthdays) are scheduled on your device by the app itself. No reminder information is sent to us. You can turn notifications off at any time in Pawtal's Settings or your iPhone's Settings.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Pawtal Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Apple tells the app only whether your subscription is active. Apple's handling of purchase information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.

6. Sharing

We don't sell, rent or share your information. It is only shared when you choose to share it, for example by sending a Pet Passport PDF or a document through the iOS share sheet to a vet, sitter or another app. Once shared, the recipient's own privacy practices apply.

7. Analytics, advertising and tracking

Pawtal contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking tools, and does not track you across other apps or websites. If you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics such as crash reports and app usage numbers that don't identify you.

8. Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and keep it no longer than needed to help you.

9. Keeping or deleting your information

Your records stay until you delete them. You can:

• Delete individual records, documents or pets inside the app.
• Delete the app to remove data stored on that device.
• Delete Pawtal's iCloud data in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Storage → Pawtal.

Because we don't hold your records, we can't recover them for you once deleted.

10. Security

Your data is protected by your device's built-in security and by Apple's iCloud security. For the strongest protection, keep a passcode on your devices and consider turning on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud.

11. Children

Pawtal is intended for pet owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or under California law), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal information. Because your Pawtal records are held on your devices and in your own iCloud account, you can exercise these rights directly in the app and in your iCloud settings. For anything else, contact us at help@pawtalpets.com.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how Pawtal handles information, for example by adding a feature that sends data off your device, we will update this page and change the effective date above before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app.
